So lovely that a dumb move on my part (racing a 3 yr old around the living room in slippers) resulted in this injury.
Fortunately, it is minor. I saw the Dr yesterday and he heated it, did some ART, then Graston, then hooked me up to a TIMS machine that gently contracted and released the muscle. The ART hurt majorly, but this morning I am definitely feeling better
I am going to try some easy jogging on the treadmill today and see how it feels.
My calves have been really super tight lately, so I think I am going to have to be adding some more stretching and foam rolling to my daily routine.
I have a 10k coming up on the 25th that I am now wondering about. It was supposed to be my tune up run to see how my training has been going and to build confidence in my planned half marathon race pace (if all went well). Now I am wondering if I should really run it all out and risk re-injury.
I guess I will play it by ear and see what the Dr says next week. This running thing is getting expensive with all these Dr visits.
Maybe I will re-name this blog "How I Injured Myself Today".
Anyone out there as injury prone as me?

I don't exercise enough to be injury prone :-( But a good friend just finished her long recovery from a major calf muscle tear. She got it running in dance class. It was months before she could dance again, so take it easy!
Oh no! That is not good at all!! So hoping it is a quick fix!
well, i sure hope this heals quickly and it's a minor set back. haha, don't change the name of your blog just yet...lol
feel better and rest!
