100 Days Mini Pledges: Week 2 - Beverages

Well, week 2 should have been last week, and with a super loaded work week, lots of meetings and company meals, it wasn't as successful as I would have liked.

Week 1 went pretty well - if you recall it was eat two fruits and veggies at every meal. I quickly learned that I am not a fruit person especially for breakfast. I also found that I was eating more calories just to get the fruit in. While I believe a well rounded diet is great, forcing myself to eat a certain balance of foods at each meal just didn't work for me. The takeaway: I do need to eat more fruit. I did enjoy smaller dinners and a large smoothie in the evenings, and while I may not be eating fruit at every meal, I think I can continue the smoothie for dinner routine.

Week 2 is "real beverages": Beverages will be limited to coffee, tea, water, and milk (only naturally sweetened with a little honey or 100% pure maple syrup). One cup of juice will be allowed throughout the week, and wine (preferably red) will be allowed in moderation (an average of one drink per day).

Last week I decided that there was no way I could live without creamer so I decided creamer would be ok but leave out soda. Well, with all these meetings came beverages and snacks, and this week quickly became a failure.

There's no harm in not succeeding, but failure is another story. So, I am starting this week 2 anew.

And this time I'm going to do it with my head right, from the start. Which means no creamer.

Single tear.

Wish me luck. Black coffee and water here I come. I don't mind unsweetened tea - so I may be doing more tea this week!
